I submitted my REA application 27 minutes after 11:59 pm, according to my local time. However, it was 2:26 pm ET on November 1 when I submitted it. Will it be accepted by the university?
If the deadline is 11/1, I would assume so. The deadline is usually either the local time of the university or the later of the college’s time zone and the applicant’s time zone. But generally, the college website indicates the deadline.
The deadline is 11/1 but the university website doesn’t go into any more details than that. Does that mean they will consider their time zone, since it is later?
I’m 99.999999% certain that you’re fine. 2:26 p.m. is before 11:59 p.m. for every US time zone (except Guam, but I don’t think that counts). In almost all cases, the deadline will refer to on of the 4 time zones in the Continental US.
Even despite that, colleges are looking for your application. It’s highly unlikely that a college would reject an application a few minutes late. Plus, I really doubt there is anyone in any admissions office after midnight. Good luck.
