Is it basically, if you get into MSU and your app is in early enough, you get into the JMC? Is it getting too late?

No, it is not too late. I certainly would not wait until spring. When you do the application it will ask you what major you are thinking of and you put down the code for JMC. You actually don't have to pick a major until later but that will get you into JMC. My son is in Lyman Briggs College and he still has a few classes in other parts of MSU so you still get the big college experience too. Go to MSU's website and read, read, read. Most answers to questions are on it.

So with a 3.46 weighted, 2080 sat (660m, 710r, 710w) and my only extracurricular being life scout, do i have high chance for getting into JMC?

VAskinsfan, it is technically never too late. People change their major choices all the time and you can easily switch into James Madison college at essentially any time (although they might be a little less lenient later on). And your stats have nothing to do with getting into JMC. Once you are accepted into Michigan State University, you are accepted essentially into whatever major you choose (there are exceptions to the rule, but JMC is NOT one of them). You can/will get into JMC if you get accepted. But they still tell you to apply earlier (by November at the latest) just in case.
