Late Verification Form

I submitted my FAFSA early in January, but realized that I had to turn in documents such as proof of citizenship and tax forms. It is now late April and still have not sent them the verification documents and UT Austin started releasing awards late March. I looked up the financial website and they said that I have to submit them " in a timely manner to avoid a delay in processing my financial aid awards" and that "All requested verification documents must be received no later than one month before the end of the semester for which you are applying for aid.". Will I still get money or would I get penalized due to the first come first serve rule?
Thanks

Are you applying for aid for the current semester or for next year? It doesn’t sound like you’re too late if the aid is for next fall, but you’ll need to call the school’s financial aid office in the morning and check with them. I think most schools put applications in line according to the initial submission date and not according to when you send in verification forms, but I can’t give you any guarantees since I have no idea what school you’re talking about or what their policies might be.

That’s fine as long as you have not passed the deadline for verification. The estimated FA should still be valid as long as you don’t have error and failed in the verification. Very often, the deadline for verification would be after the May 1 decision for incoming freshmen.
