Laundry services provided by Vandy

I received some information by the laundry services provided by Vandy housing. There are 3 different plans, 10 lb, 20 lb or 3 lb per week. It is ~ $900 per year. Laundry service provider has that it is pretty popular among freshmen. Anyone has any opinion about whether it is worth it or not?

Thanks

Totally not worth it. Don’t know anyone who uses it. It’s very easy to do your own laundry in the Commons dorms. Just do it.

Is there a convenient dry cleaner close by the commons?

There are a fair number who use the service. More popular with girls, who don’t want to wash their sun dresses and what not in a regular machine.

The service is okay. Sometimes stuff comes back wrinkled. If money is no object, well, it can’t hurt… Saves you a couple hours of doing laundry each month, that’s about it… If you aren’t filthy rich, it’s not worth the money at all!

I’m a guy who works out like 4-5x a week so I produce a ton of laundry. Just checked my bill, paid less than $60 for washers/dryers. Add in the price of detergent/dry cleaning and my bill is still less than $100 for the semester.

There is a dry cleaner close to Commons, less than half a mile. Other option is send dry cleaning along with a friend who has the laundry service (plus some cash as they charge extra for dry cleaning).
