So I'm submitting my application Early Decision to NYU Law. There was an error getting my transcript to the Credit Assembly Service, so they don't have my transcript. It will take at least two weeks for them to process a new one. However, the rest of my application says it was transmitted. Does anyone know what this means? Am I screwed for submitting early decision (the deadline is in two days, so I can't possibly get the new transcripts there in time)? Or since the rest of the application is submitted, does that count and they'll get the transcripts when they get them? The website isn't clear on it and I don't get what's going on.

Also it's dumb, because I'm NYU undergrad, so you think they could just make a quick phone call and it would be even easier than going through the credit assembly service, but whatever.

Your file will be incomplete and will not even get to committee until your transcripts are submitted (if that is the only thing that is missing). In the meantime, the process goes forward, just without you.

At the end of the day the onus is on you to make sure that all of your information is submitted on time. If you graduated in May, you had since May to submit your information. If you are a current senior who has decided to go to law school immediately after undergrad, you still had since May to submit your transcripts to the LSDAS.

If NYU itself screwed up, I’d go to the dean (or equivalent) directly and ask for help. If you know the pre-law adviser, I’d suggest calling or going to him live and in person and ask him/her if there’s anything you can do.
