Thanks for the welcome … I am a new bie who had successfully finished [Gmat course](http://www.mbagambit.com) and waiting for joining some good business scools, so checking for school which is the best… can you help me to find out the best ones means 15

I think my son told me he received some communication from Lawrence that letters would go in the mail on Monday the 14th. So we are hoping for as early as today (unlikely), realistically tomorrow or Friday.

My S applied ED from overseas (though not as an international student, as we are US citizens). His acceptance did come by e-mail, but it was followed up by the nice fat envelope. Good luck to all of you who are waiting! The more I learn about Lawrence the more convinced I have become that it’s a great place.

No mail in IL either

Accepted in MN today with a nice merit package! Yay!

congrats - glad to know things are working their way through the USPS.
Nothing on the east coast yet.

Congrats to intparent! Still nothing in IL today.

Another D (mine) in in MN (St. Paul area). I would guess Friday will see deliveries to the “outer” midwest states, Saturday to the coasts.

Son just got the big envelope minutes ago. We are in San Francisco area. Good luck to all. He applied EA.

Good news arrived in Maryland today also.

Very happy for all of you and your kids! We are still waiting in IL

Received acceptance and $22,000/year in Illinois yesterday. Congrats to everyone!

Accepted with a partial scholarship this morning in northern California! Best wishes to everyone else

Son was accepted with $18k scholarship. He is very happy. We are in the san francisco area. Congrats to everyone!

D is accepted with $18K Trustee + $2K Global perspectives!

Not sure whether to try to go or not. D sat in on classes when we went for a fall visit day, I met with some professors at dept. open houses, we both went to opening session with administrators, etc. Had a great day all around, loved the classes, campus, etc.

I feel like a 2nd visit is important to make a final decision (we’re down to 2 schools) but it is a very long way from home and not sure what will be gained from going to accepted students’ day…except maybe a better feel for whether it feels right. Already planning on going to accepted students event at the other school (but did not sit in on classes there yet).

Any advice?

Son in with small merit scholarship. Still waiting to hear from other schools, Lawrence will be in the top 2 or 3.

mdnhmass–I stay away from giving advice, but I can relate to you the experience of my two older kids. Both ended up going to a school they visited in the Fall of their senior year. Close seconds were schools they visited in the Spring of their junior year. Both chose not to attend admitted student days at the close seconds (against my advice–I do give advice to my kids, obviously they don’t always listen). Recency won out over primacy, and studies show that this is often the case when a time gap separates two messages and people have to respond right after the second message is presented. Both of my kids are very happy at the schools they are at, but both have wondered out loud to me whether their decision would have been different if they had gone to admitted student days at their close seconds. So, I guess my (somewhat long winded) point is that the school your D goes to admitted student day at likely will be advantaged in the decision. I expect that she will be impressed (the point of admitted student day is to sell kids that have already been admitted), the message will be received very close to the time she has to make her decision, and school #1 may be a little bit of a distant memory.

Thanks, nepop. I suspect you are 100% right. And I want her decision-making factors to be as balanced as possible without tipping the scales one way or the other…aargh.
