Lawrenceville Freshie here. Ask mee.

Hi I was wondering what kind of interview questions do they ask you at Lawrenceville? How do I study for the SSAT’s?

jeeeee1- There are some shy, quiet types in my grade, but for the most part, everyone is pretty outgoing and enthusiastic. The opportunities for grade bonding freshman year makes it fairly hard to get lost socially. One thing I have noticed, is that after coming to lville, most kids are more open, confident and bubbly. For schools in the area, Peddie has a really close-knit community that might be better for her if that is what you’re looking for. Would she be a day or boarding student?

party18- From what I can remember, the interview questions were pretty standard, nothing too difficult. Just be confident and positive and you will do fine. To study for the SSAT’s, I recommend a prep book or course. Good Luck!

Hi Lolzbabe, Do you know the faculty sponsors of Math, Science, and Debate Clubs that I can contact? Thanks.

Invent- right now, I’m not sure, but I can find out for you.

Anyone going to answer my question about debating at Lville? :D

Thank you,
Do you ever get lost? Is the campus really big? I am trying to get in to go for boarding school. Thank you

I got lost like, the first day, but after that you figure everything out really quickly.
-summercampers, sorry but I don’t know much about debate except a few kids that do it, sorry.

What is the average SSAT percentile for Lville? Thanks!

The average was around 90 percentile last year.
Yayyy lolzy!

same questions about debate, model congress and also Math program for the absolute top math students.

I want to know if this is even worth applying for,

If you finish the math offered, which goes through statistics, you can do an independent study in math. I’m not sure about model congress or debate yet, sorry.

What was the pie-throwing fundraiser like? I’ve seen it on the NY-area news TWICE now!

Congrats on raising money for TASK. Where did the idea come from?

One of the highlights of my life. Basically a school sponsored food fight! Never going to be able to do THAT again

i’m really nervous in applying for lawrenceville. last year i applied for this school kent place in summit, nj and i got in but i spent a lot of time working on it. on this wall street school list lawrenceville was like one better than kent place.
i just hate my current public high school so much and would like to go to lawrenceville/peddie so much. also how is lawrenceville with finnancial aid? are they pretty nice with it? i’ve been around the school before because i’ve had piano competitions there and it’s so beautiful and it would be such an amazing oppertunity to go.

also just wondering after browsing the website and all… are there a lot of international students?

On boardingschoolreview.com a lot of important data like endowment size, average SSATs, and acceptance rate are missing for Lawrenceville. Even their local rival Peddie has posted some of these stats as did most other GLADCHEMMS schools. Is there a problem with having to admit less qualified applicants with lower SSATs who can pay and may be lower yield etc.?

haha Pulsar, I love you. <3

If you truly were interested in applying to Lville and attending, you would put a little more effort into your search for this information rather than just looking on BSR. Google is a good place to start!

Also, some schools may not care to use BSR. You know that all schools have their own website! Its amazing! Be sure to check it out!

Third point: If a school does not provide BSR with its data, does it immediately mean that its stats are lower than other schools? I will answer that for you, NOOOOOO.

So much sarcasm for one post to handle.

Oh no, Pulsar! According to L’ville’s rejection letter last year, everyone who was admitted had better “credentials” than my son. (This still makes me laugh.)

2010, Sorry to say that you have much to learn. My research has shown that the schools highlight positives and hide negatives kinda like used car salesmen (partial disclosure, not full disclosure as fd can be scary). It’s like telling this magic pill will cure your cancer and not tell you that you may get a heart attack as a side effect. Did you see the drug bust news on Andover’s website under their Admissions Tab? If you paid attention, you would have noticed that all the schools I mentioned had updated their BSR data very recently in Oct. 2010 after the last admissions cycle, which means the data are available, but it may not be good enough to post. Also, the information I am asking for is not on Lawrenceville’s website. If you know these stats from your spectacular Google search, please post.

Neato, They are probably right as they may be using “Full Pay” as one of the credentials. This is the reason I suspect they didn’t post SSATs, acceptance rate, and yield info. I remember seeing them on these sites last year. I wouldn’t blame them as they may not have big endowments like the HADES schools. Also, the school may be run more like a Business as the Head of School is an MBA, not Ed.D. It looks like “Full Pay” is a great hook for L’ville.

What are the SSATs, Acceptance Rate, Yield, and Endowment for Lawrenceville? Any one?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew the type of interview questions they ask at lawrenceville or st andrews boarding school. Thank you so much
