Is lawrenceville one of the top 10 highschools in US?
What do you think about it?

Lawrenceville is a member of the TSAO (Ten Schools Admission Organization) which is a group of the oldest and most respected BS's. No one can say what the top ten schools are. It depends on the kid, the program, the classmates, and lots of other factors.

There is no denying that Lawrenceville is a great school. Please ignore those educational consulting firms with offices in Asia.

Top ten of the boarding schools, I would say...it's up there.

Lawrenceville was one of the schools my S was accepted to last year, and we really struggled with our decision -- he loved it. Truly, despite the emphasis placed here on CC on PEA and Andover (which are no doubt excellent), choosing between Lawrenceville, St. Paul's, Choate, Exeter, etc., etc., ....) really is apples and oranges. Each school has unique character, student body, campus, and special programs that make then enticing. All have plenty of courses where ALL will be challenged, if you choose to be. Hopefully, you'll get to go to revisits and get a true feel for where you'll be most happy. Congratulations and best wishes in your decision!

Well, it's pretty good, but you should probably put it under say Deerfield or SPS. But really, it's a great school.

I posted about this in one of the other L'ville threads but the bottom line is that I think it is less competitive to get into because of its location and therefore maybe less of a big name, but quality-wise it is right up there with AE etc.
