Hey,

I'm curious to see the competition that I face as an applicant for LEAD SBI.
I would also like to start getting to know some of you. What if one of us gets sent to the same college?!

Alright, well enough with my cheesy attention-grabbers.

Feel free to discuss anything about LEAD SBI (Summer Business Institute).

Best regards,
Omar

Hey!!

I applied as well!! What college are you hoping to get accepted into? Where are you from, if you don’t mind saying?

i applied to this and tasp

me too
I live in the northeast so I want to get either Wharton, Duke or Stanford.

Did anyone receive a confirmation that they received your application??

no but my dad checked his account and saw that the program had taken the money.
I just took that as a de facto acceptance.

I applied as well (didn’t receive confirmation either)-- Wharton is my first choice, though I’d be honored to fill any seat… hopefully in the northeast so I don’t have to spend too much on travel

I agree with Whartonitis!! I would be thrilled to be accepted!!! I’m from Puerto Rico so pretty much everything is far.

Nope, I don’t mind you asking!
-I’m from Honduras but I reside in Miami, Florida.

Honestly, I’ll be glad to go anywhere – although I would prefer An Ivy, Duke or Stanford.
But, without a doubt, Wharton is where I would be happiest.

This does bring a question to mind: How did anyone specify where they would most like to go?
The only place where I listed my preferences was where it asked “when it would be most feasible for me to attend”, where I actually chose no preference (to, hopefully, increase my chances of going anywhere).

when do you think we should get an email back.

Omar I filled in the same thing as you for the same reasons!!! I am anxiously waiting word from them. On the application they said we would be notified late Feb- and early march!

I also said no preference…Where I live, school doesn’t get out until june 25th so I hope that does not interfere with the time frames-- I would hate to have to decline a seat!
I think the notifications will be pushed to early March- mid March because of the deadline’s extension. Best of luck to everyone!

Hey would someone please chance me on my LEAD Business Institute 2011 chances? I know this gets annoying but I am freaking out!

My essays were on my Global Social Venture Competition team (how we made it to the second round, etc.) and on the Abacuss Deal (Goldman Sachs and Paulson deal). My essay on my strengths was on my volunteer trip abroad.

I am probably missing some things here but how does it look?

Thanks

how would we possibly know?

Compared to mine, you’re more than good.
Although my opinion is utterly subjective.

Does anyone know when we find out if we got in or not?

Normally it is roughly around late-February, but I believe it’s going to be around early-march this year because of the deadline extension.

Has anyone heard anything from the program?

I’ve heard only good things about this program, although i’ve also heard that the experience differs from college to college (which sounds perfectly reasonable).

I haven’t ran into any bad reviews of the program, but I know a bunch of people that apply to various programs and prefer other programs over this one.

i think that person meant has anyone heard anything concerning the status of their application.
