As a freshman I was introduced to the National Honor Society as a really good way to boost my CV. Our guidance counsellors informed us that we had to do community service and whatnot, but we all already knew that. Then this year they tell us we also need to have some kind of leadership background under our belt as well. The only problem is: now I only have one year to come up with something and execute it if I want to get into NHS. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do? I'm completely and utterly lost. I've heard that other schools accept 30 or more kids a year, but my school only accepts 15 max, what can I do to stand out?

Start a club about something you’re interested in and make it awesome. If it has a purpose and you enjoy it, the leadership you get as a founder would help.

If that’s not your thing, look at the clubs you’re already involved in and pick one to dedicate the most amount of time to. If you’re not in a club, maybe run a big community service project. Organize a charity walk/5k, run a winter clothing drive, etc.
