And overall, have we deemed the email benign?

@UCaliHopeful: The lab tests we ran have all proved inconclusive. The email’s pH remains neutral, and its temperature is steady at room level. No aberrations in heavy metal or organic compound levels have been detected. Therefore, we at the College Confidential Anxiety Brigade fail to reject the null hypothesis, and conclude that the email probably means about as much as a Theophilus Marzials poem.

…oh God this is what a few sleepless nights + too much APES/AP Stats/AP Lit homework does to me…

@UCaliHopeful @jackson61 It’s not inconclusive until most of us get rejected!

@jackson61 You are certainly not alone. I have had spring break this past week with several assignments to do yet I find myself stressing over the soon-to-be-released decisions while maybe watching numerous movies in the meanwhile to cope. :-" Although I am appreciative of the email, it just genuinely sucks that it is potentially meaningless.

@alwayswonderines Statistically speaking, it would be proven “inconclusive” if roughly equal numbers of the OSP email’s recipients receive rejections and acceptances. Once the evening of the 27th dawns upon us, who else is prepared to perform a one-sample z-test (alpha-level of 0.05) on the admissions decisions data?

@jackson61 LOL truee. I’m just trying to hold on to every bit of hope I can :(

@alwayswonderines LOL this is the effect of AP Stats on my head oh Lord

@jackson61 stats too? I study independently and am gonna take the test in May.(I didn’t study it for a while as I am, you know, just stressing out over decisions)

I would say it’s natural for receipts to get in more easily, given that they have undergone a screening process (invitation to the award) and present a stronger applicant pool. But certainty? No. Nothing less than 90% admit can convince me that it’s a likely letter.

@Keepyourshirton yep it’s a class in my school and it’s… uhhh… well, let’s just say that you will never. look. at. the. world. in. the. same. way. again.

Just got rejected by UCLA, putting my BEST hope on Cal now. Heard its not uncommon when people got rejected by UCLA but accpeted to Cal, anyone on the same boat and just wondering if that’s true?

Same here @frank123. Seriously need Berkeley or I am leaving the great state of California for college.

@gman333 If I don’t get into Berkeley I’ll probably go to UW Madison… #badgers

@frank1223 I think they look for different things. What those things are, I have absolutely no idea.

@frank1223 It also depends on the major.

Yeah, actually, what are everyone’s majors? I’m History.

Chemical Engineering @jackson61

@gman333 Oookay, based on just those two answers, this email has nothing to do with major LOL

@jackson61 Biology

@jackson61 SS undeclared

Has anyone found out from past threads if getting this email has any correlation to an acceptance to Cal?
