I was wondering, for Thanksgiving coming up, is it OK to leave a day or two early and miss some class? What is generally the policy regarding this? I know some classes can be so "big" that teachers won't notice you missing, but I mean will they give out tests, quizzes, exams on the last day before break begins or is it usually pretty safe to miss some classes before a Thanksgiving break.

Bump. Anyone remember from their experiences?

It depends on your class and your professor. I've had midterms the last day of class before thanksgiving break and I've also had a professor give a pop quiz (the only one of the quarter) the same day.

It all depends on the professor.

Lectures aren't flexible with students leaving before Thanksgiving, but discussions can be.

Lectures aren't flexible, but depending on the class it doesn't necessarily hurt to miss one or two if necessary. That could be the Comm speaking though.

Last year two of my lectures were cancelled the week of thanksgiving. so you never know.
