I submitted the day after getting the notification for Part II so I doubt it.
The application process for Part II could be based on alphabetical order in the system and they are just going down the list of students by their last name in alphabetical order. Another hypothesis is that they could be doing the order of the numbers that we received through registration, our student numbers.
Yeah. I bet there’s a way they’re doing it. I mean not all of us can be rejected. They take most of the cuts on the first part of the application.
I don’t think it’s alphabetical. I know someone whose last name is at the beginning of the alphabet who hasn’t heard anything.
It’s weird. Last year people were already getting notified if they got into the program or not.
Maybe more applicants got past the first round this year?
My first and last name is Ahmed and I haven’t gotten notified, so I’m pretty sure it’s not alphabetical order.
@Ahmeda14960 Financially LEDA paid for the whole summer, so my flight and meals were covered for the most part. The only time I needed money was for souvenirs and wawa, or restaurants on Nassau. They covered all the tests that I took my senior year and they covered the cost to send the scores. They also covered all my application fees. I did the math for myself and It totaled to over $1000. They give you good support through a really confusing process. and they pay for it. There is nothing better than that honestly
@leenefc I am from Texas too. Dallas to be exact and more specifically DeSoto,TX. We had had 8 scholars including myself from Texas in cohort 11, which is more than any other state. However, the D in LEDA stands for diversity and they really stick to it. There were people from everywhere. I am talking Hawaii and Alaska and even one from Montana. It’s really just a great learning experiece.
@shanabanana1 Last year they practiced rolling admissions, this year I think that they are trying to notify everybody all at once.
Some people have already been notified so I don’t think that they’re going to notify all of us at once.
And those that got noticed have been notified at different times
I swear this is so frustrating!
@Gunkz123 @LockAndKi @knizzle After you got notified for your interview, when did you have it? Was it the next day or a few days later? And also what type of questions were asked during this interview?
@Ahmeda14960 I had my interview last Wednesday, I was notified roughly a week before so. I could have interviewed earlier but I chose not to. The questions varied, from questions about my home and school life, and some more abstract questions concerning my feelings on things that I’m passionate about. I think I fared well, but regardless, I think that anyone who is genuine and well-articulated about what matters most to them will do fine. Good luck y’all! I hope we all see each other at the summer conference, however unlikely it may be.
@Ahmeda14960 i was notified on Thursday and scheduled my interview on Saturday. I had a choice of two times on either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of this week. Still haven’t recieved a confirmation as to when I will actually have the interview.
Do they make a lot of cuts on the second part of the application? I’m really scared about the interview but I haven’t even passed this round.
@smarttaytay I’m from San Antonio which is about 5 hours away from Dallas. I’ve never been there but I’ll be visiting in a couple of weeks! But I was actually raised in Mexico. I think the part were I’m most excited would be meeting people from different places with different perspectives. I really hope I get in because I know a big part of the program is for that.
@leenefc me too! I havent really traveled many place and Ive always gone to schools in my neighborhood so it would be nice to be surrounded by people from all around the country
@da2949 Youre from Texas too?
