My daughter is interested in attending TAMU. She is only a bit above an average student... Has a 3.5 GPA mostly A's and B's. Her only C's have been in math courses. She has taken a fairly tough course schedule... Honors in English classes as well as 2 AP English and 1 AP History class. Her ACT score is 22 although she is retaking it in October. She attends a very small, high achieving high school so she is not in the top 10%. Her dad is an Aggie so she is a legacy. Will this help her with admissions? What do you think her chances are? Is there anything she could do beside raise her ACT to help? Thanks!

Well, I don't know about the legacy but if she takes the SAT and gets a 1300 M/CR, then she's automatically in. :)
Other than that, she should try to raise her class rank if possible while also raising her ACT score.

From what I have been told by former students, a legacy means nothing. It's all about scores and class rank.
