Lehigh Dorms?

Does anyone know how the freshman housing works or when we'll start hearing about it?

Freshman dorms are selected for the students. You basically have no choice which dorm you’ll be put into. Only certain dorms are equiped for AC so if you will require one let them know with a medical note. The school will tell you your room selection will depend on when you send in your deposit. Don’t know how true this really is. Lower Cent has dorms with coed floors which many students like to be in.

richards. the other freshman dorm is awful

My son was in M&M. Not too impressive but he managed fine.

There really isn’t a bad dorm at Lehigh. Every building has its pros and cons.

Dravo has the biggest rooms, but its the highest up the hill and has an insane amount of stairs just to get to the front door.

Richards also has nice sized rooms, but Ive heard of forced triples. Alot of athletes live in richards and its mostly guys.

Lower Cents is far away from the hill, but close to off campus parties and its close to Rathbone(the dining hall), the library and the gym. It has a gazebo and a volleyball court. Also if you aren’t a huge fan of climbing the mountain everyday its on level with most of the academic buildings on campus. Also 3 of the 6 houses in the complex have coed by room housing. The room sizes are not the biggest but aren’t as small as M&M.

Upper Cents is close to the dining hall and the library. Same sized rooms as Upper Cents.
Smiley and Thornburg are all guys dorms.

M&M has the smallest rooms but its really close to the hill. Everyone who lives in M&M loves it. Its a really strong sense of community.

You dont really get to pick your dorm. ED kids generally end up in lower cents because they pick coed by room and get first pick in that because they sent their deposits in first.

this might seem random…but can you change the temperature of the dorms yourself whenever u want, or is it like programmed from somewhere else?

It’s programmed from somewhere else. It’s comfortable during the day but I crack open the window at night because I like it cooler then.

okay so i won’t freeze to death? haha i’m from FL so i’m kinda worried about how i’ll surrvive in the cold…

Well I like the fact that ED peoples generally get the Cents! :D

WaitingDad, are there certain rooms within each dorm that are air-conditioned or are certain dorms completely air-conditioned and if so which ones? We have already paid the $500 admittance deposit, but not any housing deposit (if there is one).

Thanks.
