Length of supplement essays?

For the specific college essays, how long are they normally, or is there a limit? I am not talking about the main common app essay.

They’ll usually give you a suggested word count. Some are supposed to be 250-300 words, and some are 500 words. I haven’t seen anything other than that, except for short-answer questions that want like 100 words.
The Common App essay is supposed to be around 500 words. Maximum is 650.

What about the uchicago supplemental essays? They don’t have a specific length.

I’ve heard it shouldn’t be longer than two single-spaced pages. It’s best to be as concise as possible.

Does anyone know the suggested word count for supplemental essays with an unspecified word count?

If a college doesn’t give a word count for a supplemental essay, you should try to keep it between 250 and 500 words. (As there is a strict word limit for the Common App personal essay this year, in no case should your supplemental essay exceed 650 words.)
