@whynotnow mine is the opposite. They show “processed” on MyMit portal, but no green checkmark on recommender portal–just says the requests were sent. Frankly I think the MyMit portal is the incorrect one because the checkmarks showed up too fast after I sent the requests. So I think its important for applicants not to rely on MyMit and check the recommender portal!
@mediapr hmmm…in that case, maybe wait a couple of days and then if nothing changes you may want to call the admissions office to verify.
Where can we find the notification date for EA applicants?
@ChantingTorah No specific date, around mid December
We’re all just guessing. MIT should shoot an email soon telling us.
Does anyone know if there is time to send an additional recommendation?
I think it’s probably too late. They had to have decisions for Questbridge for today so I would think they’ve been through most if not all applicants. You could always send it now anyway though in hopes that it hits at the right time and if you get deferred it’s already all set. We sent an updated grade report Nov 6 and they were uncertain if that would be too late according to the GC.
@ammoopi Send it! Don’t have any regrets.
Probably not,I don’t know what my recs wrote and my councelor who writes a rec for other applications now show me his, said it is the best he ever wrote and it is amazing. That’s why i was wondering
Does anyone know when the financial aid decision will come out?
I think end of February
I thought financial aid decisions come out in March for all applicants, RD and EA?
Yes! They said end of February early March for both early and regular
I am so disappointed that the december MIT newletter didn’t contain any information regarding EA decisions
It can’t be in February because regular decisions come out in March. I read on the MIT blogs that they send out financial aid awards to regular applicants in the same package as acceptances, and the EA applicants get their awards mailed out at the same time.
@dianaDM yeah, me too.
That’s what they replied by e-mail! Financial aid awards will be released to Admitted students (Early Action and Regular Decision) at the end of February and into March, as long as their financial aid applications are complete.
Does anyone have any idea about early action decisions? last year MIT let people know on 12/13/14 at 15:16 (3:16 in afternoon)…they seem to do interesting things with dates…
It’s most likely December 12. Maybe 12/12 at 12:12 p.m.?
It’s always on that Saturday right? I think it’s the 12th! and @tutututututuru I wouldn’t be surprised if it was at 12:12…they always seem to do something funny like that!
