MIT Class of 2015 Early Action Hopefuls

I think it's about the right time to make this thread. I just submitted Part 2 of my application!

Let us use this thread over the next month and a half to discuss how nerve-racking the whole process is.

I completely agree. 2nd post!

I’m done with MIT. Let the hoping begin!

So are you guys applying EA anywhere else? BC and UChicago for me.

Just sent in mine! Anyone know the exact date of when we hear? I’m doing EA for Maryland, Michigan and Case Western.

Actually, no one does. It will continue to be unknown until the admissions officers get through enough of the selection process that they can be confident they’ll be able to release decisions by a certain date.

In the past, decisions have been released in mid-December, and the decision date has been announced in early December.

Just submitted. Also applying to UChicago and Case Western.

Just MIT EA for me!

Interestingly enough, MIT will probably be the first decision I get as far as early admissions go. BC is December 25th and UChicago is “Mid-December.” Seems like MIT is usually in the December 7th-10th area.

I JUST SUBMITTED! Wooo this is exciting! I wish all of you guys the best of luck!

To us! And MIT!

I am not applying anywhere else early.

I submitted my application a few days ago at 6:02 10/23 or 6.20x10^23 in honor of Avogadro. I also applied to Purdue and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. I was accepted by Rose a week or two ago. Now I am pretty much just waiting on MIT. I just need my teachers to mail their recommendations. I am slightly worried that they may announce decisions on my birthday Dec. 17, as last year they announced decisions Dec. 16. Good luck everyone!

Just submitted today. Man, what a load off my chest.

From the creator of last year’s EA countdown thread, good luck to all! Around this time last year, acceptance to MIT was the most important thing in the world to me, but after being deferred and rejected, and eventually ending up at Northeastern, I really love it here. Just something to keep in mind. Keep the hope alive, but don’t be disappointed in yourself if it doesn’t go as planned. You never know how much you may end up loving a school you didn’t expect to attend. This time next year, it won’t be as important as it is now, regardless of where you end up.

My 8th grade English teacher had an interesting idea about the universe - if you even have a tiny bit of doubt, the universe will not deliver. Why would it give you something if you didn’t think you would get it? Never give up!

Just submitted my app this morning, good luck to everyone else!

Just submitted my app and bouncing off walls I’m so happy. When it asked if I really wanted to submit my app, I know it’s precautionary, but it’s like, “You’re asking me this now, after I’ve done all this?”. I don’t know, I think I’m slightly delirious right now, hahah

Good luck everybody!!! :D

ok everyone–I’m submitting EA but I don’t know if this is wise. My scores are no where near as high as everyone else’s but MIT is my absolute first choice! I just have to know if I am going to be rejected by December. The best would be that they want me–but with my stats they probably will wait to see who else applies. Good luck to everyone!

Well they only reject 20% or so of their EA pool and either accept or defer everyone else. So depending on the score, you’ll probably get deferred, especially if you showed your passion for what you do and MIT in your essay.

Wow 2015 sounds like a long time away. Hopefully I get into this class :)

Just submitted my part 2, and teacher/school stuff is on the way. I’m actually kinda sad because I enjoyed writing those essays! (I hope that’s a good sign…)

Good luck to everyone else!
