letter from lehigh?

did anyone get a letter from lehigh mentioning Spectacular! Spectacular! I'm thinking this is a form letter. Anyone else get this letter? it also states that (In the past, students who haverecieved this letter have been approved for admission to Lehigh pending a final decision by the Admissions Committee)

thanks!

I received that same letter today.

Was it an invitation to a Diversity Life Weekend?

it was. does that mean we have a higher chance of getting accepted?

You know, I believe so. I have seen other posts with students saying they received a letter from the dean, and when I asked if it included an invitation to a Diversity Life Weekend, they said no. So our letter is possibly more than a generic letter that Lehigh sent out to a lot of other people.

thanks man. reply back to this thread if you get anything else from lehigh that is not a form, kind of like the diversity life weekend letter.
thanks.

No problem, and I have a sort of personal question. What's your ethnicity?

"In the past, students who haverecieved this letter have been approved for admission to Lehigh pending a final decision by the Admissions"

now that sounds like a likely letter to me! congratulations!

We received that letter. My daughter would have identified herself as hispanic because I am Cuban. I assume that is why she was included in the Diversity Week-end?

So my thoughts were right in it pertaining to minorities, and I do believe it is a likely letter. Hopefully see you all at the Diversity Life Weekend.

Congratulations to everyone!

My friend got one today and I got to read it. This one IS definitely a likely letter!

Not only does it say that "in the past students who have received this letter have been approved for admission to Lehigh pending a final decision by the Admissions Committee" .... but also the date for the weekend is in mid-April ... isn't that after the notification date? This can only be a good sign!!

You guys are so lucky!

I was thinking those same thoughts about the weekends date, which is after the the notification date. I'm thinking that they did that on purpose.

thanks everyone for your responces!
i'm half chinese and half african american. do I count as a minority?
vicky, you made a really valid point. the date for the weekend IS after the notification date!
better cross our fingers!

@jamexzz -

My friend who received the letter is Asian.

Good luck to you!

Haha jamexzz I do believe you are counted as a minority, but nonetheless anything to get us into one of the top schools in America is a good thing. After receiving notification of an anticipated acceptance we should post it here, and get ready for a great weekend at Lehigh. Good luck to you all.

i got a letter in the mail but it didn't seem like anything special and i misplaced it somewhere !
and now i forgot if it said anything about the diversity life.
if it didn't, does that mean i'm not getting in?

yeah..I'm wondering the same as jcrew90...do you guys think that means that the people who didn't get it didn't get in?

i believe that people who get it have a higher chance of getting in! my grades aren't even that great, so i'm wondering if i got it by mistake. dont give up hope.

I'm pretty sure its affirmative action pertaining to not only African-Americans, but all minorities as a whole.

earlygrad, good point.
we'll get a letter in the need week or so.
does anyone know what date the notification comes?
