Admissions decisions?

Does anybody know if, historically, Lehigh has released admission decisions before April 1st or if they go out on April 1st?
Thanks:)

Last year’s CC thread indicates that they came out 3/27, but they apparently send an email beforehand telling you when you should login to find your decision.

We would only be speculating about this year - who knows!

i got a likely letter a few days ago.

By likely letter, do you mean that invitation to diversity life weekend? I’m a bit confused about that, because it takes place after admissions decisions come out. They pay for travel arrangements (it would cost them about $1000 for the flight tickets I need), and it wouldn’t be a very good business strategy to make that kind of offer to people who they aren’t accepting. At the same time, they haven’t sent out the decisions yet, and they’re asking people to commit to it by the 15th.

Can you tell me more about this likely letter?

thanks

Found something interesting: [Lehigh University - UR News Story: 3216](<a href=“Lehigh University News | Lehigh University”>Lehigh University News | Lehigh University)

I quote:
“Like all students invited to Diversity Life Weekend, Hassan was already admitted to Lehigh, and had a strong academic record and an interesting story to tell. His family moved from Egypt to the United States when he was a child.”
Can’t be entirely sure, but it certainly seems likely.

"Dear …,

Preliminary review of your application shows strength in your academic and extracurricular endeavors. The Admissions Committee is pleased with your accomplishments and would like to invite you to visit Lehigh University for an opportunity to participate in our Annual Diversity Life Weekend, where you will learn more about why Lehigh may be the perfect fit for you!

Diversity Life Weekend begins on Saturday, April 17th…"

It is hard to believe that they would be inviting students for an event more than 2 weeks after admissions are scheduled to be sent out without already having accepted these students to Lehigh.

yea… that’s the letter I got. It would be a bit weird for them to do that.

that is indeed the one. i think it sounds like a likely letter because A) they offer to pay for travel B) they provide all your food C) you get to live on campus with a current student there D) they cite being impressed by our academic performance E) they ask us to reserve space now for an event that takes place more than a month away and occurs after admissions decisions come out. it seems rather clear that we are going to be admitted. some schools likely letters are more blunt than others. a friend of mine got one from uchicago that said we can’t wait to share the good new and you’ve been admitted and columbia said as you await favorable news coming in the next few weeks.

also, the information for Diversity Life Weekend is under “admitted students” on lehigh’s website

is this just for domestic students?

Most likely, as plane ticket prices cost much more overseas than domestically.

ok
if any internationals got this invitation, let us know

there is a facebook photo of one of the past events at Lehigh where the greeting desk has a flag on it saying “Admitted Students”

I wonder why they don’t just come right out and say “Congratulations on your admission to Lehigh, why don’t you come to this event and learn more about our school?”… this is just confusing =/

i heard a rumor decisions would be on the portal on the 25th this year

Mustard, Where’d you hear that from?

one of my friends talked to someone in admissions

I emailed someone on admissions regarding diversity weekend and this was his response:
Of course I remember interviewing you. I hope all is well. An invitation to Diversity Life Weekend is never a bad thing. If you can make it to the weekend, I highly encourage you to take advantage of a free trip to visit the campus one last time. Students who get invited to this program usually gain admittance to Lehigh at a very high success rate. However, nothing is final until your receive your admissions letter.

I hope I’ve been able to clarify. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Best of luck,
