Letter of Rec from a non teacher

<p>On the Common App, it states that only a teacher or counselor can write a letter of rec, yet I have a community service supervisor who is honored to write me one. What is the appropriate form for them to fill out and send in? Via mail or internet. Thanks!</p>

<p>You need two recs from teachers and one from the gc, using the forms provided in the common ap - but there is no reason why your supervisor can’t provide an additional letter of rec if it shows an aspect of you that your school may not be aware of. There is no form. They write a letter and mail it in. It helps if they provide comparative information (‘best volunteer of my career’ or ‘employee of the month for the last 3 out of 6 months and we have 30 employees’). And you can help the recommender by providing pre-addressed and stamped envelopes for each school to which the rec is going.</p>
