Letters...

Okay so I want to go into political science and so I figured I should have my law / AP U.S. teacher and AP English teacher submit letters, which satisfies my requirement for letters of recommendation.

But over the summer I also interned with a Senator and he agreed to write a letter for me for college.

1.) is it okay to send 3, or is it obnoxious?

My next problem is for Embark it is requried to fill out a "teacher reccomendation form". Because he is an employer do I give it to him anyway for administrative purposes? Or should his letter speak for itself?

thanks for ur time in advanced!

generally, i’ve heard that if you send in extra things, the ad com just doesn’t take them into consideration.

If you send in three it better add something new and impressive or I wouldn’t really bother.

i think you should just send in one recommendation. I also heard that the admissions officers don’t take into consideration any extra material. You should ask your AP US teacher for the NYU recommendation and save the senator letter for scholarships or something like that because the senator’s not really your teacher.

Hi!!
I’m applying to Tisch film/television for ED, I have extra artistic recommendation letters from a director I worked with and an art professor, should i send them to Tisch directly with my portfolio or to admissions office?

but darn, a senator is impressive… you should only send one… but… senator? good on ya!

They said at open house that it’s OK to end more, just don’t over do it. I’d say send no more than 3 including the counselor rec and the required teacher rec.

I would definitely send in the Senators letter.
