I took an LFit class during my freshman year. Was wondering if i could take one during sophmore year and if it would count towards my GPA as a 1 credit class? Aka is there a limit on number of LFit classes u can take

LFIT is specifically for freshmen, but you can take PHYA classes, which are basically lfit classes that are solely activity based (they won’t have the online modules and heath class aspect). PHYA classes are one credit hour and they have some pretty cool options like horseback riding and skiing in addition to jogging, swimming, etc.

Aren’t physical fitness courses at UNC all P/F i.e. they don’t count toward GPA (and as a result you don’t “transfer” Fitness courses, you are just exempt from them)?

It says on the site that you can register for it P/F and have it still count towards your credit hours, but an advisor I made an appointment with (Laura McQueen) told me that was incorrect.

I’m not sure I think she was correct, though.

My understanding has always been that PHYA courses count towards your total credit hours for graduation, but does not count towards the minimum 12 credits per semester.

I was talking about the LFIT classes, though. If it’s your first one that’s required to graduate.

My understanding is that they don’t carry any credit hours toward graduation or anything else. I would ask an advisor (possibly another one).

Lfit classes count as a 1 hour class… pretty much an easy A but it wont help your GPA too much since its one hour
