Hi everyone, my range of colleges (in terms of admissions difficulty) are Denison, Dickinson, Marist, Rollins, Allegheny. Please try to keep the list within this tier of admissions difficulty. Thank you!
It would be easier to list LAC’s that do not like to party.
Gettysburg for sure. I would say St. Lawrence too especially during Hockey season.
Depauw is one, from what I’ve read, but I have no personal experience with it.
Also, Franklin and Marshall and Lafayette sound like party schools.
Hobart, Fairfield
I can tell you from personal experience that Oxford College of Emory is a great place to be if you don’t want to be sober on weekends.
Who says these schools “like to party”? What are the metrics?
@dadof1 It is something that is not measurable or even definable. Sort of like pornography, you know it when you see it.
Trinity College, CT
The seven words every parent wants to hear…
@HRSMom lol, well liberal arts partying isn’t that intense relative to your average university
Right… that’s what I thought. :)>-
@NJperson3675309 Ummmmm, have you been to Bucknell, Lehigh or Gettsyburg on a Friday or Saturday night?
^Add Colgate to the list.
ETA: Besides the previously-mentioned schools, Princeton Review’s “Lots of Hard Liquor” list includes the following LACs: Skidmore, Conn, St. Bonaventure, Eckerd, and Fairfield U.
And on “Lots of Beer”: Hamilton, Bates, Beloit.
Help why am I contributing to this.
Colgate would be outside the OP’s selectivity range.
Ah, didn’t see the admissions difficulty part. That also rules out Hamilton and Bates.
Bucknell and Lehigh might be outside the OP’s selectivity range as well. And Connecticut College, Trinity, Hamilton, and Bates.
I think this is completely NOT TRUE. But I will refrain from naming schools, it seems like a sure way to rain down unhappiness from parents who don’t want to know or admit it. In general, more rural schools and schools with Greek life tend to be higher on the ‘party scale’.
It’s hard to say without stats, but based on the inclusion of Dickinson in OP’s list Conn or Trinity might be reaches.
