Liberals, how many of you assume Republicans are dumber than a sack of...

What do you mean “So are Obama and most Democrats in congress”???

Look, I’m sure you mean to say that the health care reform bill is just another public option for health insurance. But the truth remains that this bill will eliminate most health insurance companies who don’t meet the qualifications of the “Choices Administration”, and all that will be left is the most insanely expensive options or government healthcare.

Government run healthcare comes along with this bill.

Have you looked at the bizarre system we have running now? It might not be entirely “government run” but it’s about as far as you can get from a free market.

Exactly. We need health care “reform”. It’s just that this reform should involve less gov’t intervention, not more.

Can you expand on this LogicWarrior? It actually makes since - I’ve just not really thought about it. I think in the future politics are basically going White Libertarians vs. Various Ethnic Group Liberals; not so much the Conservative vs. Liberal debate we have today.

Collin Peterson (D-MN): The members of Congress don’t even understand what is in the healthcare bill

[Is health bill too complex to grasp? - Victoria McGrane and Lisa Lerer - POLITICO.com](http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/25594.html)

We need a free market system. Insurance is supposed to cover risk, not a sinus infection.

As for government intrusion into into healthcare, if you subsidize something, you increase its abundance. Healthcare costs have risen dramatically from the 1940s on, after government became involved.

I try to stay informed about politics, but there’s so much BS from both sides and it’s confusing. How would I know which policies are best for the economy when economists can’t make up their minds? I think I’m fiscally conservative but socially liberal, which people tell me makes me a Libertarian, but I’m not a Ron Paul fan (I like you Ron2012Paul :p) Plus there’s all the stuff on the international stage to keep up with, I don’t know anything about foreign policy, I can’t keep track of all these countries and who has nukes and whatnot! Whenever people get into political arguments in real life or CC, they sound so knowledgeable. I find myself understanding everyone’s point of view, it’s horrible and makes me confused :[ I guess I don’t have much faith in politics.

Whatever, neurobiology > politics. The politicians and lawyers can deal with the nightmare that is healthcare and the scientists and physicians can work on advancing medicine and solve the real problems at the heart of the issue, not the messy paperwork.

Ron2012Paul, I’m with you all the way.

Just listen to me Alix. And when I’m not talking, go to mises.org

And yes, we are brothers minnesota.

Nope, the Democrats drafting this bill take loads of money from HMOs. We won’t be seeing the end of private insurance for a while.

There are still lots of political viewpoints among each ethnicity, but Libertarianism seems to be centered around non-Jewish, non-Hispanic young white males.

Why is increasing abundance bad? I’d love a health care plan that was simple and covered everyone, but the Democrats’ plan does neither.

It isn’t the 40’s anymore. This generation will live to be 80+ and half of us will get cancer. How can you manage that risk? I’m starting to think that health care will need to replace retirement at some point.

You guys sound smart. Wtg.

Logic, you are misunderstanding (or I’m not good at explaining things). If (as seen with medicaid) healthcare costs are covered by the government, receivers of the aid will be less cost conscious. Because demand for the lowest, most valuable healthcare is lost, prices naturally go up.

Medicare Part D costs $50 billion a year. Replace that with a program to provide cheap basic coverage to anyone who wants it and I’d be happy. The free market can handle dentistry, prescriptions and cosmetics.

Funny thing is, how many “liberals” relied on their emotions to elect a black president? I know many individuals whom voted for him because 1)He was black, or 2)He wasn’t in Bush’s political party. Because of this, Obama was spoon fed the presidency.

2 is a legitimate reason (everyone was sick of Bush) and 1 was disproven on fivethirtyeight.com many times.

I know people who did it for number one.

Well there’s statistical data that 1 didn’t impact the election sooo…

I didn’t say anything about him winning because of it.

Who cares, the Federal Reserve is the problem… waits for new debate to start
