Just got my financial aid! They did not give me the cal grant and I specifically reserved it for 4 years, so 2 years left for transferring to a UC. That would have impacted my decision between Cal and UCI. I’m going to call the Financial Aid Office on why I did not receive the Cal Grant.
I think the reasons you guys haven’t got the Cal Grant yet was because it hasn’t been renewed yet. I haven’t checked my financial aid package because the site is under great load. On the Cal Grant website when I log in it says my Cal Grant is pending renewal and it will be renewed by the end of June. It still has my current CC and I submitted a request to change schools. I’m guessing UCI doesn’t know about it until it gets renewed and the school change request goes through.
@mickromero7 @RangoJackson I did not receive a Cal Grant either and called UCI an hour ago. They told me that I did not qualify for a Cal Grant because I will continue living at home, and since I qualify for Blue and Gold, I will only receive University grants to cover tuition. It really sucks since I’m not getting other grants to help cover books and supplies, but what can I do

It says i qualify for the middle class scholarship. I got denied cal grant. how do i receive it?
I’m so surprised I got denied Cal Grant since my household income is 11k, and I’m too low on the threshold to classify for any middle class scholarships. Such a weird grey area
Does anyone with experience know when we will be able to fill out our preferences for a roommate and when we can request a roommate?
@xenoplanet Oh man that’s not good news. I hope the reason why the Cal Grant isn’t listed is because it hasn’t been renewed yet. If I was declined then the Cal Grant website would have told me so but for now it is pending renewal. Every year it would be renewed around the end of June. Gonna call about it tomorrow.

So I called them about the Cal Grant. They said that they haven’t got a report from the CSAC. In response they put in what I was suppose to get from the Cal Grant into the UCI Grant. And when the CSAC/Cal Grant does report my award they are just going to take away the difference between the two from the UCI Grant. So in the end it makes no difference. I am getting that money either or.
I just dropped my General Chemistry II class. Wish me luck.

Call them! I will say, Im very, very impressed with Jillian, a counselor at the school of physical sciences. She’s helped me out a ton these past few days - and considering I was in a rush, that couldnt have been easy.
I was told Cal Grant, if i get it or not, wont change the UCI grant. Kinda sad they want my parents to contribute 5k as my parents wont help me at all… means no workstudy or pell. Well. I can still find a job! 
So if we do get the Cal Grant which most of us have on reserve, then this grant $$ will be added to the financial aid we are already getting or will they take the difference so we will be getting around the same amount of financial aid??

Some people have, but a lot have not. I called, they said they will be releasing them through Tuesday next week, and who knows maybe beyond that lol.
@PreMedMonkey When I spoke to the School of Social Sciences today they were confused when I said that I haven’t received my package yet. So I’m assuming it should be getting here any day. They should really get that out with the acceptance notification haha.
@atlashoney and @BackNSchool83 Okay perfect! I was worried that they had forgotten to send them or something.
I asked the admission office about the acceptance package. I was admitted a month ago and still received nothing. They told me that they sent it out on mid-April. I told them I did not get anything so they said they would send a duplicate copy last week. However, I still get nothing. I think the admission probably have some problem sending out the letters. I’ve already got acceptance package from other UCs weeks ago using the same mailing address.
