so I'm going to transfer to FSU for my junior year and graduate program in Computer Science . which is the best dorm to live and socializing, meeting new friends, girls, party sometimes.... don't know where students party, suite style resident hall or apartments style ? :)))) I know this sounds dumb but can you go to the party without drinking and getting involved in any fraternities; i only know how to drink Coke

It’s the people that make a particular hall/dorm a social area.
I was a transfer and lived at Ragans briefly. Some were partying it up in their apartments and inviting people over while some never left their rooms.
If you are a social person, get out there and mingle…you can’t expect a party to show up at your doorstep.
Of course you can party without alcohol it’s really not a big deal if you choose not to drink. You won’t be the first or the last, so don’t feel pressured to. It’s easy not to get involved in fraternities, what you do is…you simply don’t rush or go to parties sponsored by whichever frat house. You can still go to the parties and not get too involved with them if you want. Just do whatever you feel like to be honest and don’t feel the need to cave into any pressures if it is out of your comfort zone.
College life is honestly what you make of it. So if you want to meet people and be social…join clubs, show up at events, talk to people, and just be yourself.

I’m confused… weren’t you the one that was debating FSU/Virginia/Iowa and then decided on Texas?

None are better than others, although as a transfer you’d probably want to live in the apartment-style over a regular dorm. Just be wary that you’d probably at that point be better off living off-campus.
Still stuck on the meeting girls priority, huh? Where you live doesn’t impact that. What impacts you meeting people is you.

College students party wherever they can, really. I haven’t ever heard of a dorm being anti-party…

No, everyone on campus absolutely hates it if you don’t get so drunk at a party that even your thoughts are slurred (obvious sarcasm).
Yes, you can go to parties and not drink alcohol. I don’t really drink myself, and I enjoy myself reasonably well at most parties… mostly because I get a good laugh out of my friends any time they’re drunk…
