Anbody who goes, went, or is going to UGA want to talk a little about the overall experience?
Academics, dorms, social scene, Athens, greek life, ect

I have a lot of friends who go to UGA, and most of them love it. They say the academics are hard, but not too hard (except some, such as chemistry) so that gives them time to go out and party on the weekends. Downtown is a lot of fun and has several bars and clubs, and it's always packed. There are tons and tons of cheap restaurants all over Athens, and they're all really good. Greek life---there is tons of emphasis placed on it at UGA, to the point that it can get a little nauseating at time. It seems as if every person is in one, and they make a huge presence on campus. That can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you view it. The dorms are dorms....kinda small, but they are all so social and everyone seems to make friends with everyone on their halls. People usually do not mind living in them, and actually prefer them b/c they can make friends so easily. Finally, UGA sports are usually highly regarded, ESPECIALLY football, which definitely gets annoying. However, the games are fun and school spirit is everywhere.
