I am interested in joining the Corps but id like some insight on the social life available to the students within. I understand that during red phase there is almost no time, or permission to be with friends or family, and i understand it gets better after that phase. During all phases, is it possible to say, get lunch with a friend outside of the corps on a weekday in between classes? Or hangout with a friend in Blacksburg or at their apartment/dorm?
Any other comments on social life and availability to be with people is greatly appreciated!
also, I have a girlfriend of 4 years who plans to apply to VT. Some of my reasoning for this question is because id like to have time to eat lunch with her, go into Blacksburg with her, or go on a date with her. is maintaining a relationship hard while in the Corps? Thanks!
