Life Outside the Classroom

So I got accepted into BU and really love the campus. However, I have some questions I didn't feel comfortable asking during the tour with my parents right there, lol.
1) What's the party scene like?
2) Can you easily drink on campus? dorm rooms? What are the RAs like? I ask because I saw liquor bottles in some of the windows so I'm assuming it's not a dry campus.
3) Is there a lot of partying at the frat houses? in the dorms even? bars?

I know it's not a party school, but let's face it... every school is an alcohol haven in some sorts.

Moreover, is it common to see drunk people on campus? It seemed so perfect when I went there.

Even though, I’m not a student there yet but my brother is so I usually spend lot of time in his condo room in Mountainview and the party is not seen but its there. Some RAs are ****** bags but some are very cool…but overall the parties are fun, lots of illegal drinking involved, freshmans getting wasted etc etc

No, Binghamton is not a dry campus. However, University Police will enforce the laws of NYS if you get caught. After all, they are state troopers.

1) It’s definitely there. Some people party in their dorms, or at bars and elsewhere.
2) I have no doubt that it’s “easy” to drink on campus, but if you are caught underage drinking you could face serious consequences. RAs are required to report violations if they see them.
3) I’m not a member of a fraternity and cannot personally answer this question.

1) Its frats/clubs/bars… All sorts of stuff. There’s pregaming done as well.
2)Absolutely not a dry campus. Yeah you can pretty much do whatever in your rooms as long as its not obvious and you’re not bothering other people/RA. Depends on the RA. Don’t give them a reason to report you and you’ll be fine.
3) Frats have a lot of people… Everywhere. Seriously. If you want it, you can get it.

If you walk around at 2:00 AM, you will see some drunk people. At that time most people are coming back from downtown and are heading back to the dorms.

If you don’t want to party, you don’t have to and plenty of people don’t enjoy it (myself included). I know about the whole “scene” because some of my friends enjoy partaking in the drinking aspect, and have dragged me along with them as well. There are non-alcohol related things to do as well.
