I just recieved a handwritten letter from the admissions officer (I'm assuming...) from Wake. "I want you to know how much the Admissions Committee enjoyed reviewing you undergraduate application...We would love to have you here." It also had a lot of personal details about the answers on my application. First off, I'm assuming that this is a "likely letter." Secondly, I was wondering if anyone else who applied RD has recieved anything similar.

I'd like one...that would be cool...I heart Wake...

ah i want a likely letter...boo hoo! congrats cubsrule. loveduke22 i think we applied to all the same schools..ha! good luck all!

what schools did you two apply to? (I applied to Duke, Wake, Davidson, Emory, Hopkins, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, USC(Cal)...I have already been accepted to USC)

i got a similar note after visiting campus in the summer. i got in early decision. so, i don't know for sure if that means you're in, but i'd say its a good sign. i hope you're all accepted and all go to wake with me next year. good luck.

Haha...yeah britt and I definitely applied to atleast 3 of the same schools. Duke, Wake, Elon, Emory, GATech, and Virginia Tech. I was deferred from Duke, and have been accepted at GATech and Elon:)

yay :) i guess only 3 of the same schools, but they are awesome schools. I also applied to guilford college (accepted but not attending), UNC-Ch (rejected EA), College of William and Mary, and Furman. Congrats to everyone who received a likely letter. Only a month and a half of waiting left!

The 3 schools we applied to are the coolest schools ever. Furman is awesome too. I was going to apply there but wasn't entirely sure that I'd consider going there.

yea they are..im not really considering furman anymore..it is a good match if i get in, but i don't think i really dig their social scene.

CubsRule, I received a personalized e-mail regarding specific elements of my application and was offered admission. It's very refreshing to see that a college is doing this and showing proof that you aren't just categorized by your test scores. Good luck to everyone!

Yale...what are your stats like?

1560 / 770 / 730 / 650 / 4.21W / 28/1251 / IB
Also applied to HYP, Duke, and Georgetown.

Those of you who got letters: are either of you athletes?

And Yale, looks like you and I looked at a lot of the same schools. HYP, Duke, Georgetown, and Wake were originally where I was going to apply, but I ended up applying to Yale EA (rejected... psh!), Harvard, Wake, and UVA.

Ahh...ok...I feel better. You guys are exceptionally geniusish.

dtown,
No I'm not an athlete.
Yea don't let EA/ED Ivy rejections hurt your confidence. I was deferred from Harvard EA. But judging from your "psh!" it seems you took the same attitude I did haha. Good luck!

Dear Elizabeth,
It has been my distinct pleasure to read your application. I was especially struck by your writing talent. You weave words together with expert precision. I hope you will find yourself sampling color after vivid color as you explore the oppertunities tucked inside the Wake Forest box of crayons [an allusion to my "why Wake" essay]. Your creation will be a masterpiece.
Sincerely,
Dawn Calhoun,
Assistant Director of Admissions

wahoo!

I'm hoping it didn't actually say "oppertunities" in that letter...

Wow...that's AWESOME hazelbites. Wowowowowow. Congratulations!

yeah, isn't that funny?
wake isn't my first choice but this letter is so damn endearing that it has bumped up on my list some.

W...o...w, hazel, I actually spoke with DC on the telephone after I was waitlisted, she told me I was accepted. I had no idea she actually read applications. Wow... I'm going to think about this for a while.
