likely letters

Oh man I am soooo pumped right now, I got a letter in the mail today, "although our admissions committee will not complete its work until January, we have already been impressed by your achievements and your potential" :-D Awesome!

Got one too. Obviously a good sign, but do you really think it means anything? just wonderin don't want to overthink it.

what were your stats? IS?

In-state, 1340/2050, 7 APs, 4.0 W/ 4.64 UW, 4/308, Tennis 3 years, Captain 2, Beta 3 years, President, Youth for Christ 3 years, Student Leader 2 years, Hospital Volunteer

I think its an unofficial acceptance, provided you don't commit a crime or start flunking everything. I'm in state, 1480/2150, 6 APs, 3.98/4.60, 21/435, sport 4 years, club, mentor an elementary schooler.

nice job guys, def. looks like good signs. I really hope I get a likely letter but I'm not expecting one

I checked my mail today but nothing but Christmas shopping advertisements and bills for the parents.....rats!!! I don't really expect to get into Carolina as a freshman anyway, but it is good to know they are already making contacts with some applicants. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. :)

Maddie

sounded pretty good since it said something to the effect of "we hope to see you here." etc.

They aren't messing with you........you are in!! Congrats!!

My d rec'd a likely last year and was accepted, honors program and small scholarship. Congrats all...hopefully more good news (scholarships/honors) from Carolina to come.

omgomgomg! Congrats people! Hopefully I'll get one within the next week (I'm from California, so IF they sent me something, it would come later).

btw...if I don't get a likely letter, there's still a possibility I can get in in January, right? >_<

of course ssssssssssss

when do the official acceptance letters get sent out?

Those of you who are receiving likely letters, when did you apply?

And just to give some hope to those of you who don't get likely letters -- we're instate, and two years ago my D did NOT get a likely letter, but she did get in EA, was invited to the scholarship day, was invited to the honors program and was offered a big scholarship. A likely letter obviously means good news; but no likely letter doesn't at all necessarily mean bad news.

Likely letters mostly for instate students?

I submitted my application before the Nov. 1 deadline but had to fill out the longer residency form which I finished just in time for the EA deadline.

yeah if you didn't get a likely letter, don't sweat it too much. Most people who get in DON'T get a likely letter.

I got one. In-state male, 1540/2260, 3.9/4.9, physically disabled, 4 years ultimate frisbee, will graduate with 13 APs, NMSF, 3/475...I applied EA, turned in my application at 9:30p on the 31st.

Congratulations everyone! I'm super-jacked.

Carolina sends likely letters to students they are pretty certain they are going to admit. Of course it’s not a guarantee, but assuming you don’t do anything stupid in the next few months you should be in. Congrats!

is this only for instate students?
