I got a letter saying that i will be accepted. If I applied to the CALS and selected a major for AEM, does this mean that I got into that program?

@EmWinter- yes, it means youre accepted. now go celebrate. congrats

Hi I was just wondering, does Cornell send letters in the mail to all its visiting prospective undergraduate students as well? Soon after visiting the campus I received a letter from the director of undergraduate admissions along with a Cornell sticker from out of the county. What does that mean? Is it just for international students or what because I haven’t even applied, and as far as I know, the mailing list I subscribed to is only for online information… I don’t know how I got this, has anyone else had the same experience?
Collegeboard gives out your information to colleges even if you didn’t ask them to send your test scores to any colleges. I never did, but receive around 3-5 letters in the mail daily from random colleges I’ve never heard of and the Ivies, other privates etc without signing up for mailing lists. So, if you have taken the SAT or PSAT, it is very likely Cornell could have gotten your info from collegeboard (though I do believe you must have checked the box approving collegeboard to send your info to colleges when signing up for collegeboard). Otherwise, it is extremely likely that the mailing list you signed up for wasn’t exclusively for email and they wanted to give you more information about their school. Also, if you signed up for the visit officially, they would know you are interested and it would make sense for them to send you mail.

@anonanon019 What does this have to do with Likely Letters? When you have a new question, you should start a new thread and not hijack another one. It’ll help you get better replies
