Just got a Brown likely letter today! Does anyone know roughly how many are sent for non-athletic recruits yearly? Thanks!

I think a safe bet is at least 95% of admitted students don’t get them, congrats!

According to an article in the Brown Daily Herald, about 50% of the letters are sent to non-athletes. I’m not sure if we can post links, so just Google “likely letters BDH” to see the article.

i got a likely letter and wasn’t an athlete what does that mean

That means you got in

Does Brown check your third quarter grades before admitting you if you receive a likely letter? I’m asking because my English grade has temporarily (“temporarily” as in it will rise drastically in the next week or so) dropped to a C.

^no, but they request your final transcript if you enroll there
