Does Emory send out likely letters? If so, when are these letters sent out?

I would really like to know the answer to this question as well. I know that Vanderbilt and Dartmouth have already sent out their likely letters.

aren't likely letters almost always for recruited athletes?

no, the valedictorian of my school is not in any sports and she got a likely letter for Dartmouth

i got a letter dated February 3rd telling me that I am "probably the kind of student who has traditionally enrolled at Emory" blah blah. consider it a likely letter? or just some sort of formality for all rd applicants?

got that too. it was becuase of ou scores i think. sat- if they were in range u got it. but i hope i am wrong- that it is a likely letter

I don't think that's a likely letter. It was sent out to many if not all students.

i'm pretty sure it's not. i got one before i sent out my app.

haha oh gee... i thought maybe my sub-par SATs hadnt screwed me after all, thanks for the replies, though

i didn't get one and i got 2340 on the SAT-I

ergh, what does the letter mean?? i didnt get one, and im afraid that it might be a likely letter

There is no way that is a likely letter. February 3rd is way to early for the admissions committee to have made a decision on people. Most people I know who recieved likely letters last year said they were dated late February or early March.

thanks, does that mean emory sends out likely letters for sure?

idk if the letter I got today is a likely letter or not, but it stated that they received all my materials and that they'd like me to schedule an appointment to visit the campus and gave me information on it. And then it said "Continue your success during senior year!"

I got the same letter in early February: It merely means that your file has been completed.

yeah, same here... i dunno i don't think it's a likely

I got it too, I doubt it's a likely

okay everyone. I applied RD last year and was accepted and never recieved on of these so-called "likely letters" so if you havent gotten one, don't stress
