Did anyone else recieve this letter stating that, "your self reported class performance and test scores indicate that you are probably the kind of student who has traditionally enrolled at Emory and done well"? The rest of the letter goes on to pretty much state everything that is so great about Emory and that they hope you will write, call, or visit them in the months ahead.

I doubt that this is a likely letter, being that it is pretty early for that sort of thing. I sent them my SAT scores and grades about 2 months ago as a regular decision applicant, and the letter clearly stated all of this was based on only those 2 parts of their criteria. So is this just an automated letter sent to everyone who applied or is it a 'likely letter'?

Please clear my mind of this before I naively go around saying I got a likely letter when I really didn't!

yes my D received the same letter like 3 weeks ago, and i thought also that it was a likely letter but when i asked CC , people on here said it was a common letter everyone can receive!!

I also got the letter a couple of weeks after I sent them in. I know isn't it torture, you think they are really interested and then you realize its just automated...

If you search the archives, you will see that this thread pops up every year. My daughter received one two years ago, the letter stops just short of being a "likely" letter.

Thank you, ThatMom! I am just under the impression now that it is automatically sent out to anyone within a certain SAT and/or GPA range for them. But hey, it's better than nothing I suppose! (atleast they got my materials, haha).
