Does Emory send out likely letters? If so, when?

i know UVA does but I've never heard emory doing it. I'm really not sure though. Sorry I couldn't be that much help haha.

Emory definitely sends out likely letters... i know last year people got them at the very beginning of March, because i know someone who got one..hope this helps! good luck with the application process!

I got an email today from an AdCom rep saying how much they liked my essay, mentioning the topics I addressed. I wouldn't consider that a likely letter, but it's still a good sign.

Oh, maybe I'll get one of these on my birthday (March 2nd)!

angrygoldfish what are your stats?? if you don't mind.

Well, I'm pretty sure they only sent me the email because they liked the essay, so I doubt my stats have much to do with it. I'm still on the lookout for an actual likely.

Do likely letters mean anything stats wise?

Like (haha... pun), do the applicants with the highest stats only get likely letters?

Or is it randomized?

It's not just highest stats. It's basically the creme of the crop of the applicant pool; that is, those who have very good chances at the Ivies and are extremely strong applicants at Emory. So this would include the people with great stats, activities, etc.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

That makes sense.

So have they already sent these out?

My D received a "likely" email from Emory Oxford telling her that they have a very great program and that being at Oxford it's great etc...... the problem is that she considers Emory Oxford as a safety...so she is disappointed, she thought it will be just... Emory!!!

I don't think that Emory (Emory College) sends out likely letters. If anything, they would send them to the top 5% of their applicants, or to Under Represented Minorities (URMs) or Athletes that are being recruited.

um well someone at my school said she got in
she said she got likeley letter for cultral thing..don know exactly wat it is
but t i do think they send letter to certain ppl

likely letters do not guarantee admission, i don't think

A relative of mine is at Emory and she does not believe likely letters are sent out. However, I have received a great deal of emails from Emory in the last month. Has anyone else received emails?

I have. I remember one about Wonderful Wednesday and one about Dooley.

Yeah, they've sent me a ton of emails.

yes,one about Emory Advantage and one about Wonderful Wednesday too! and one letter telling me they are "finalizing" my award!

Do you think that people who are likely to be admitted are only getting the e-mails?

Or do they just send them out to everyone?

The random emails about stuff going on at Emory go out to everyone, I'm pretty sure. If you get something that's personalized, though, that's different.
