Likely Letters?

were all the likelies athletic, or were some non-athletic ones received today as well?

@RunningForLife‌ I was a non-athletic likely.

Most, if not all, of the athletic likelies would have been issued in the Fall.

I got a non-athletic one today (i thought athletic LLs came out in the fall?)

Out of curiosity, for those that received likely letters, which section of Penn did you apply to?

My friend applied to Wharton (even more amazing!).

And yes, I’m actually sure that all were non-athletic. A girl at my school was signed to Penn last week. Probably all recruits applied ED.

Actually, he sent me a screenshot and it says nothing about being an athlete. So I guess no LL for me :frowning: literally crying right now.
And he applied to Wharton.

They must be very impressive applicants to accomplish such a feat.

I suppose I’ll just wait until the second round of likelies. (I have no clue why they wouldn’t just have one round, and send all likelies at that time…)

Edit 1: @Lanie49 Are they personalized letters, or of the form variety?

@Tiberium‌ I got a likely letter today. I was not a recruited athlete, or an athlete at all :). It was personalized; hey took a quote from my essay that they particularly liked and posted it on the letter. So excited!

For you guys who got a likely letter, what do you see if you log in to your applicant status page?

I got a non-athletic LL to Arts and Sciences today! Yeet!

OH MY GOD I just got a likely letter via the Penn Portal!!! Non-athletic likely, College of Arts and Sciences (international relations and linguistics)!!! I was totally NOT expecting this…after getting deferred from Princeton during the early round and not getting the Regents scholarship for UCLA or UC Berkeley, I was beginning to lose hope! I can’t believe this is actually happening what the heck

Also, does a likely letter mean I’m guaranteed a spot? Because I have a B- currently in AP Calc (senioritis…help…) and a B+ in AP Lit and I’m genuinely afraid I’ll get rescinded. The way they phrase it doesn’t offer much comfort…

“Pending your continued academic success and good standing, when we announce decisions on March 31st, 2015, it is likely that you will be admitted to Penn’s 263rd class for study in the College of Arts and Sciences.”

I got a non-athletic likely letter today too, woohoo!!! I’m actually really surprised, I didn’t know they wanted me so much. It’s such a relief honestly.

When you log in, there is a yellow band at the top that says Status Update.

Did all of you get an email or physical mail?

I got Berkeley Regents but DID Not get UPENN LIKELY LETTER! :frowning: freaking out

Anyone get a likely letter for a dual degree program? I applied to the M&T Program, no likely here (wasn’t expecting it either)

congrats to everyone who got LLs! are they still going out ? i really want one

When did you guys submit your application? Does it matter when you submit it?

@Ambitious19‌ I was also a College of Arts and Sciences likely!
Are any of you planning on going to Quaker days? Are we expected to be there for the entire duration?

@marioharvy I feel like Berkeley Regents looks for the “well-rounded but slightly stronger in the sciences/engineering with amazing stats” kind of student. tbh i’m not surprised I didn’t get Regents as I’m significantly weaker than my STEM-oriented classmates. Congrats on Regents though!!! It’s a pretty huge deal; apparently only the top 1.5% of Berkeley applicants get it.

@BetterthanBest It was an email, and it was under the “Promotions” tab of my gmail inbox, which was kind of strange lol

@wootpenn yay! I’m planning on going to Quaker days! I don’t think we’re expected to stay there for the entire duration, as Penn will probably understand that we have other colleges to tour during spring break.
