Likely letters

deezmom, not a strange marketing tool at all. All colleges want their top applicants to accept their offers of admission. What's so strange about that? Many colleges have similar events in order to convince these students that THEIR campus is where they should be. It's not a foolish strategy, and I can assure you that these students are not the least likely to attend. NYU's official decision date has always been April 1, same as most colleges which are not on rolling admissions. The advance notice for these events is to enable people to have time to make travel arrangements. I would disagree that most colleges would invite all accepted students to similar events. The other issue is that most colleges will not have a similar number of accepted students to accomodate. NYU probably has approximately 10,000 accepted students. Obviously too many for an event like this.

salem, you're correct. E.D. kids are not invited.

I got one for Gallatin!! So exciting, I wasn't expecting to be offered admission this early.
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the March 29 reception - does anyone know if Gallatin will be holding any more info sessions for admitted students? If not I may just go to one of the normal info sessions because I've never visited formally.
