I’m seriously considering applying to transfer to Scripps. I would like to major in linguistics, and I’ve heard they have a program for it. But I haven’t found out how good it is. Does anyone know? Should I major in linguistics here, or look elsewhere?
Hi! Two of my friends are linguistics majors. One is a sophomore at Scripps like I, and the other is a graduated senior. You do it through an off-campus major, which is pretty easy to do. Pomona and Pitzer both offer it. Pomona is one of the top schools in the country, and it’s got a pretty good program. Pitzer’s program is more centered around social justice, so it’s not necessarily better or worse than Pomona’s. You’d just end up spending your time at the other campuses a lot.
