Okay since the tool wasn't working i entered every information on fafsa manually with the tax return file of my parents in front of me. Now fafsa is saying that my fafsa file is incomplete and i must send my parents' tax information through the IRS link.

I have entered name, address, birth date etc. as i see it exactly on the tax return file and it keeps on giving me an error saying "The information you entered does not match our records" iv'e tried doing it over and over again trying different capitalization, spelling of "street" and "st" and made sure that my parents' filing status is "Married filing jointly" and it is still telling me that it does not match their records, has anyone else encountered this problem before?

What year of FAFSA are you working on? ?

2013-2014 FAFSA need 2012 tax information and 2014-2015 FAFSA need 2013 tax information.

I don’t think IRS link for 2013 tax returns is ready yet.

If this is for the 2014-2015 FAFSA, the lin is likely not available yet. You can’t even file taxes electronically until late January (a little later than usual due to the govt shut down last year) and they won’t look at paper filed returns till then either.

I have, though, encountered a similar problem with the IRS. I was trying to get my tax transcript last year and it always said my records disagreed despite entering every version know to man of how my address might appear on their records.

i am working on FAFSA 2013-2014, and using my parents’ 2012 tax return forms. I tried it again and it still would not work. I scheduled an appointment at my school’s financial aid office and i will also try there
