APan5 had a great idea to start the "Class of 2010" thread for listing candidates for 2010, however, the forum shifted to new subjects as people began to ask questions on it.

Dictatoranna proposed in another thread, and I agree, that a thread should be made just to list aspiring mids for 2010; therefore, I ask that this thread be USED ONLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF GATHERING A LIST OF CANDIDATES for 2010 as well as where you are in your application, nominations you have recieved, and eventually LOAs and Appointments.

My name is Scott, I live in Dallas, TX and USNA is my first choice. I attended the first Summer Seminar Bravo 3-5. I have completed my application but am just waiting on my DODMERB appointment.

Hi I'm Jeff from Westlake, OH. I've completed everything for the nomination requirements and have one more form to submit online. Still haven't heard from the DODMERB office. Anyone know how long thats going take? I got my fifth form in at the end of July.

Just to clarify, I haven't had the appointment setup yet and am wondering how long it takes for them to get back to you on where to set that up, etc.

I'm Anna from GA. USNA is my first choice. I finished the written part of my application. I'm waiting for my DoDMERB results. I'm trying to set up an interview with my BGO. I hope to run XC/track for USNA and major in systems engineering. I want to go into the Marines. I'm praying for a nomination (and an appointment, like everyone else :) ).

Dictatoranna, I want to major in systems engineering too. Did you go to a summer seminar, and if so, did you go to the systems enginnering workshop. I thought that was the best workshop by far, really cool stuff the mids have made over the years for their senior project

Yeah, I went to SS (session 1, A21). I also went to the systems engineering workshop. It was awesome. I really loved the paintball get up and the mini tank...and that video with all the explosions. I was impressed by all of the projects. I've seen them on videos online before, but that was the first time I saw them in person.

Greensboro, NC. Previous College, starting Sophomore year. Finally found out that I am a candidate from my BGO, but no packet yet (I'm at school and it may have gone to my house, but the rents haven't told me yet). DoDMERB started in May, with my final waiver appointment on Friday. I am unsure about my major.

At this moment, my son wants to major in either Physics or Naval Architecture. To my stress, he is thinking that he wants to be a SEAL. In high school he is a wrestler and on the swim team.

Oregon Mom: our son is interested in NA as well....and our daughter is a physics major in her final year....thank goodness we depart in similarities with SEALS as there has been no discussion about that!

I graduated from Archbishop Carroll. I look forward to seeing you all in June! Whoever wants to major in Physics....I wish the best of luck....its really difficult for some

I'm Jen from Menomonee Falls, WI about to move to Dracut, MA for my senior year. I have all my online applications due, had my BGO interview today...I've never been that nervous but I totally rocked it, now I'm just waiting for DoDMERB and then hoping for a nomination! GO NAVY BEAT ARMY

I'm Tim Frost from Hampton, NH. This is my second year applying and potentially not my last. I have the personal statement, activities, and nomination request letters sent. What-to-do? What-to-do? I'm thinking get with my B&G officer - get the interview done. I don't have to do the whole DoDMERB thing again, but I don't really know how the update for it works.

You can't believe how down I am that Apan5 lives in my town - he/she is going to steal all my nominations and appointment! I have a feeling there's no room for the both of us. There's going to have to be a duel!

I've actually been through a strange summer. After being rejected, a small military JC gave me an opportunity to go to a Army Leadership Training Course (LTC) at Fort Knox. I'm really Navy, but I was willing to go for the expirience. Penn State just called today too. They're giving me a 3.5 year AROTC scholarship, but I can't start that until the spring semester. (Goodbye to giving USNA any fall college grades. That's gonna hurt.) I'm guess I'll have to say goodbye to my original plan as well: going enlisted into the Navy Nuclear program. I know enlisted is suppose to be "icky", but it could have help at least for getting NAPS.

I'm going to stay optimistic anyway this fall. I have to find something to do besides working at Baskin Robins/Dunkin Donuts.
