I just got my waitlist letter… I put my name of on the waiting list since I was heavily expecting a rejection

SAT: 720 VB, 660 WR, 560 M (1940 total)

white female from a competitive private school

I was waitlisted as well, after being deferred EA. 2250 SAT, 34 ACT, 3.5 UW GPA.

I’m not going to add my name to the waitlist. There are other people who want it more than I do, and I’ve already been accepted to other schools I actually like better.

Good luck you all of you, wherever you end up! :)

Waitlisted after being deferred and put my name on the list right away

31 ACT, 3.71 UW GPA, ECs: 4 years lacrosse and field hockey, many singing groups, soprano section leader, lots of volunteering, jobs throughout high school

good luck everyone!

I decided to put my name on the list.

< Waitlisted

2180 SAT/34 ACT/90 GPA

Waitlisted after being deferred EA.

2300 SAT/32 ACT/ 3.9 W GPA/9 AP’s (got two 5’s and two 4’s junior year)/National Merit Commended

Extracurriculars were decent, included alot of service hours.

I’ve already been accepted by two more selective schools so I was a little surprised not to get in, but oh well. I won’t be joining the list because I don’t want to take a spot from someone who really wants to go to BC. Best of luck to all of you.

BC is a great school from everything I’ve seen anad heard, most students would love to attend. Just out of curiosity what are the selectives you liked better than BC?

Notre Dame and Washington University in St. Louis. BC is definitely a great school and I would be more than happy to go there, but even if I got in it would still probably be my third choice.

For those of you who are waitlisted and want to go to BC; my s was waitlisted last year and got in and absolutely loves his BC experience. A recommendation for you is keep a dialogue going with the person who signed your waitlist letter. Don’t overdo it, just email and keep them informed of any new accomplishments from this point forward, ie: awards, grades, achievements. Make sure they know that you will take the spot if offered to you.

Good luck to all of you.

COLMOM, thank u 4 ur advice, but how can I connect the person, her email address is not on the letter :P

Go to BC’s website, they will give you contact info for their personnel.

impal:

google is your friend. Try searching for ‘Tom Jones *.edu’ and it will probably pop up.

I got in, but I also know that 2,000 people are put on the waitlist from BC which is a ridiculous number since they also only accept 50-200 from the list each year…

good luck to u guys

i got waitlisted too serious bummer cause bc has been my top choice for as long as i can remember

so many people i know there though have gotten in off the waitlist so im still crossing my fingers!!!

The letter gives the number 2,000 for the waiting list. Is this the number of students who are offered a spot or the number of students predicted to accept a spot on the waiting list?

It is probably 2,000 that are given a spot. On my naviance it says that on average they receive about 31,000 apps and accept 8,000 students while they waitlist 2,000 and have 2,100 spots for the freshman class.

Dear theCaliKid : The acceptance numbers are closer to 7,000 given the increased yield which arrives at a freshman class size target of 2,250.

I was wait listed, but someone from my school with similar stats got in. c’est la vie… i went ahead and put my name on the list (i would still LOVE to go to BC, out of the 9 schools i applied to it seemed like the best fit for me). Does anyone know the percentage of people admitted off the waiting list?

Like BC said, they will probably be taking 50-200 students out of the 2,000 wl. It can go up or down depending on yield, but prob. not by how many accept wl spots.

if we DO get off the waitlist, can we still accept/deny or are we expected to attend BC?
