Literature Advice?

Hi,

I took the Literature test last June and got a 690. However, I was surprised because I got a 780 on the official practice test and a 5 on the AP Lit exam as well. (I do quite well on the official AP multiple choice practice exams. I have gotten 1 to 5 wrong on these.)

So I'm retaking in October and I'm not sure what to do. Do you think the 690 was just me having a bad day and I shouldn't worry too much? Or should I be studying? What's the best Lit prep book (preferably that I can buy on Kindle)?

To add on to the question, do lit prep books actually work? How much of lit can you learn from books for these? Are questions in lit subject tests formulaic like those on the reasoning or math tests, so that we can figure out what to expect by doing practice tests?

I think either Kaplan or PR is good for lit… it depends on what book you buy. Lit is difficult, it’s very counter-intuitive ><;
