is anyone taking the lit subject test? or has anyone taken it before? I paid for three tests but I'm backing out of physics because I'm not prepared for it. so I'm taking Math iic, USH, and either lit or no test at all. I got a 710 on the CB practice test for lit, but i don't know if i'll be that lucky on Saturday. any suggestions? is a 710 good? should i just take two? ughhh haha

also would an 800 on math iic and a 700 on lit make up for a 1370 SAT I score? lol.... thanks!!!!

I'm assuming that's a 1370 without the writing section.

Many colleges are saying that they are looking more towards SAT subject tests as an indicator of academic merit. However, that really doesn't diminish the value of the SAT which remains, arguably, one of the most important components of your application. A 1370 is not bad but not good enough for ivies and top colleges( in general). Really try to pull up those scores and don't ever assume one thing might make up for another. The truth is, with ivies and other top schools, you need to demonstrate excellence across the board- gpa, on your SAT's, AND SAT II's. ( as well as teacher rec, EC's, essays, etc.)

i'm not assuming anything. you could have just said no. thanks for the pep talk though? and who said anything about ives or 'top schools' lol thanks though

bump.. lit subject test anyone?

he's just trying to help

I am taking the Lit SAT II tomorrow.
Well, in general, if you enjoy reading (both prose and poetry) and do it for fun (i.e. you have good reading speed and interpretive skills) it's for you.
However, it's a bit harder than CR and involves a lot of poetry.

yeah i had a little trouble with the two poetry passages, but the prose passages didn't seem too bad. i'm just a worried if i'll have enough time to read all the passages carefully and answer all the questions.

^oh and thanks alex!!!
