What do people think of the LLCs? On one hand I can see how it might help with making friends, but on the other hand is it better to be on a floor with all sorts of different kids with different interests?

My kid got a lower contract number in the 2500s so one thought we had was he may get a better dorm if he applied and got accepted into an LLC, but not sure if that is the case. Also if he applies would he have to accept it before he would know what options he’d have to pick from with his contract number?

My D has a good housing number but also thinking about whether or not Honors or an LLC may be worthwhile. I think it all depends as there are benefits to a cohort and there is something to be said for increased diversity. In our case, she will likely get her dorm choice and priority registration through the “Degree in Three” program so will likely pass on LLC/Honors. If he has an interest in an LLC and it’s in a dorm he likes it may be a good move. With your Number (2500) I would think he will get something acceptable and have some choice.

2500 isn’t that bad of a number. Plenty of people with better numbers will end up either at another school or off campus. So, your D’s chances of a good dorm selection are pretty good. That said, i think FSU does a great job with their LLCs.
