Loans for less than half time student?

Hello all. I will be taking a 4 credit course at my university over the summer. Unfortunately, this counts as being a less than half-time student which disqualifies me for most loans. I was wondering if there are any loan providers that I could apply to.

Thanks

Not unless you have a cosigner, but really, how much does this class cost? Why not work and pay for it?

I just saw that you’re taking the class at your Univ. Why not take it at a CC? What level is it??

@mom2collegekids some colleges do not allow courses to be transferred in from elsewhere once a student has matriculated. My DD’s college was one of them. She looked into taking a CC course or two…or a course at another four year college near our home. Her college would not accept those credits toward her degree.

Perhaps this is the reason this student is taking the course at his own college.

Also, sometimes college courses in the summer cost a tad less per credit than during the academic year.

Of course…YMMV depending on the school.

To the OP…do you HAVE to take this course during the summer?

@thumper1 I know.

But I think this student is at Temple. I don’t think Temple has that rule. I think the student just has to get approval from major dept.

If finances are a serious consideration, perhaps taking a summer course should be off the table.

Can you commute to Temple? If not, how are you going to pay for housing to take that one class?

Do you have any aid left to use for summer?
