Local Diploma / Failing One Regents

so i've failed one regents, which i can't seem to pass. i've taken it twice already, and i'm going to take it once again in june, but it feels like it's impossible for me to pass. i got a 55+ the first time i took it, and a 45+ the second time. it's the US history regents, btw.
will this prevent me from graduating? or can i get, what i've heard, a local diploma: http://schools.nyc.gov/documents/offices/GT/TL/2009_GenEd_Grad_Card_FINAL.pdf ? and would colleges rescind me for doing so?

I recommend that you practice with this website, I used this when I had to take the US regents:
http://regentsprep.org/regents/ushisgov/ushisgov.cfm It’s very useful.

They phased out the local diploma last year after I graduated so you must practice a little more and get atleast a 65 or else you will not graduate.

hmm, I don’t think so. i got this from wikipedia:

“Students who entered 9th grade in 2004 must attain a 65 or above on one of the required Regents exams and a 55-64 on the remaining four regents exams to achieve a local diploma. For students entering in 9th grade in 2008 and beyond, local diplomas will no longer be available, so all students must get a 65 or above on all required Regents exams.”

aren’t they phasing out the local diploma for students entering 9th grade in 2008?

^^^^Sorry, I should have clarified that. But I still recommend that you use the website it is very helpful.

If you are not successful then take the local dipolma. I have a regents dipolma and the only difference between that one and a local one is a stamp that says regents certified. It is only used in NYC to place you in a Math and English course if your ACT/SAT don’t meet the required grade. So no it won’t hurt you.
