^^ well i wouldn’t go that far haha. LA is pretty bomb.

@ andrew

yeah…more like “F*** UCLA admissions” lolol

That sounds amazingly unfair.

Oh and I just figured out the two courses use the same book and have almost the exact same content in their respective syllabus

APPEAL, APPEAL, APPEAL! If this sounds so ridiculous to all of us, SURELY there must be an admissions officer who could see it for what it is. And really, what do you have to lose by appealing?

I think the fact that the classes are identical (aside from their names) qualifies as “compelling information.” As someone else said, just make sure you have some sort of proof of that with your appeal (i.e. syllabus and letter from your professor).

So sorry you have to deal with this, but just do what you can from here, and best of luck to you!

You have to be some sort of magical wizard scientist to understand all that pre-req crap. I’m sorry that you have to go through this. That’s annoying and really disappointing.

@ ucbwannabe

Thanks a lot for your input…we will appeal…and I really hope your “ucbwannabe” turns into a “ucbadmit”! :)

@ framlove

I know, right! The prereq system is just really bad, especially if you don’t go to a ccc and have assist.org

You would think that they would just give UC-UC transfers with high GPAs the benefit of the doubt.

@ Cali

hahaha yeah…no offense to anyone, but it is a bit harder to obtain and keep a high GPA at a UC school than a CCC school

@Sandaboy “a bit” may be an understatement.

@ Cali

I know lol…but I was trying to be nice to the ccc’ers;)

i got in with a 3.55, no TAP and 6 W’s, sorry about your life :)

I’ve been seeing so many people saying that the reason why they got rejected is that they haven’t completed their prereqs yet.

So basically if people want to get into UCLA, they should be done with their prereq before or right after they apply for UCs? Is that right? I’ve been told so many times that as long as i got them done by Spring, I’m good. :(

my friend said ucla told them they were rejected because their essay was “too much geared towards uc berkeley.” just because they talked about environmental issues, political issues, and other stuff berkeley’s known for

^ ouchhh! hopefully they get into cal :)

@sandaboy

Its not that ridiculous… Just because UCI sed econ 25 is the same as mgmt 30a doesn’t mean UCLA acct1a is the same as mgmt 30a.

@itransfer

then why does UCLA accept mgmt 30a for acct1a?? lol…did u read my post?

Cause community college accounting 1 (which everyone has)–> mgmt 30a .

<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST;
acct 1 does not equal econ 25

<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST;
acct 1 equals mgmt 30a

<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST;
acct 1 equals mgmt 1a at ucla

I would have taken mgmt 30a anyways. I don’t even think econ 25 would count as financial accounting for a CPA license, accounting grad, or MBA.

I agree its really ■■■■■■■■ though. Same as math for econ, life science physics, or business stats. They should just have one freaken universal class instead of having all this stupid specialized classes which make equivalency hard to measure.
