and why did we try to convert on 4th down while we were in the lead?

Who knows. Why did they just miss an extra point? The most frustrating part for Michigan fans is the things that should be automatic, end up being problems for the team.

that’s a pooch punt, they do it all the time. You go in with your QB on 4th down and the D thinks you are going for it. They play a normal D and have no one back deep to return. Your QB takes the snap then punts it over the D and lands it inside the twenty. Robinson just f’d up the last part.

Haha what a sad game, both teams were pathetic. At least our defense played well and we won…

I didn’t watch the game and haven’t had a chance to watch the DVR but I heard that the conditions were bad. I was following the game on an internet play by play and it sounds like it was an entertaining but poorly played game. I am starting to get a sense that the 7-5 record will be enough to give RR another year as long as the Wisconsin and OSU games are not completely ugly. The press seems to be giving him a break.

it’s less about tricking the defense making them think you are going for it and punting but more about giving yourself a punt/pass option. If denard sees a lane, he could run for it. If denard sees a pass, he could pass it. If nothing’s open, punt. The thing about the defense is given the run/pass possibility, they cant put a return man deep…because it would be like 10 man on defense, which denard would most likely run/pass.
